The artist often depicts dark and mysterious subject matter, showing influence from the surrealist movement. In the painting, the viewer is unsure of the connection between the horse and the woman or their narrative, which forces the viewer to come up with her own story for the painting.
Liang Dan Tu was born in Sichuan Province and graduated from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Art in 2012. She later graduated from the China Academy of Fine Arts in 2012. She has held several solo exhibitions at home and abroad and has been invited to participate in a number of major art fairs worldwide. The artist currently lives and works in Chengdu.
